Just to anticipate the infamouns "gearing question" is my care to suggest something about gearing both for the saturday rides and for the sunday race.
I usually use a 34x19 and with it I can clear almost every climb, keeping a little bit of agility for a long uphill, that is not so bad!
If you are well trained you can give a try with a 34x18 or equivalent.
This "gearing tips" will be good for the saturday ride.
For the sunday event I think it will be a good idea to add 1 or 2 teeth on the rear.
There is only one hard climb but i suggest to prefer agility (especially if your shape is not very good..as mine for example!) cause this hard uphill is...how can i say..hard!
I will ride a 34x20 or maybe 21.
As already said, if you ride a lot you can use the same gearing for the two days and you can't go wrong.
What i want to say that this is not a 32x16 singlespeed ride.
But don't be scared, you'll love the trail cause is challenging in the right way, that's why i love it!
